Beloved husband of Pauline Anderson, John was a devoted and caring partner whose kindness and steady presence were the foundation of his family. He was a proud and loving father to Brian Peter (Karen) and Robert Allan, and a deeply cherished Papa to his granddaughters, Amberlee Grace (Jonathan) and Brooke Elizabeth (Spencer), who brought him immense joy and pride especially during the many horse shows they attended together after his retirement.
John was predeceased by his siblings Larry Anderson (June), Carol Walton (Jack, Jake), and Roger Anderson (Lynda). He was predeceased by several nieces and nephews, including Gary, Laurie, and John. He will be fondly remembered by Judy, JoAnne, Tammy, Kevin, Michael, Darren, and the many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched.
Born on July 19, 1944, too Grace and Frank Anderson , John entered the world at their home in Long Branch on a stormy night, marked by a dramatic lightning strike, an arrival as memorable as the life he would go on to live. The youngest of two brothers and one sister, John shared a close and respectful bond with his parents. He especially cherished time spent with his mother, an excellent cook who inspired John’s own love of cooking. Over the years, he delighted family and friends alike with countless memorable meals and generously offered his talent by creating beautiful wedding cakes for anyone who asked.
John was, in every sense, the best husband, father, papa, role model, mentor, supporter, and teacher anyone could hope for. He had a rare gift for making people feel special and valued. His warmth drew children to him naturally, and his storytelling, always delivered with a sparkle in his eyes and a gentle smile, left lasting impressions on all who listened.
John was very successful in business, owning Forster Instruments (1983) Ltd, and Strandix, he was involved in numerous business ventures and successful projects.
He loved deeply, spoke kindly of others, and was known as a thoughtful listener who could always lift someone’s spirits. Family was at the center of John’s life, and he nurtured those relationships with care, humor, and unwavering love.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
