Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. John Reijnen, in his 68th year was the beloved son of the late Henrika Reijnen (Hendriks) (2024) and Joseph W. Reijnen (1994). He was the dear brother of Annette and her husband Maurice LeBlanc and Mary-Ann and her husband Greg Law. John was the proud uncle of Nicole (Mark), Nathalie (Randy), Kimberly, Klare, Michael and Jessica (Steve) and great-uncle of Elliott, Kayla, Sydney, Isabelle, Bruce and Henry.
John was a quiet, intelligent, funny person. He enjoyed playing board games with his family and friends. He often amazed others when he would shout out an answer in Trivial Pursuit. John was very competitive at card games. He played a variety of card games but really enjoyed Crazy 8's with his nieces, Euchre with friends and family and Dutch Rummy with his mom.
John was an avid fan of the Guelph Storm, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Blue Jays. He could generally be seen wearing the logo of one of his teams. John loved to talk about sports with his brothers-in-law and enjoyed going to see a hockey or ball game.
John loved music especially classic rock and country. He spent a lot of time listening to old CDs and cassettes. Music was always number one on his Christmas list. John learned to play the accordion at a young age. He was part of a high school small band. John entertained many singing Dutch family favourites and old American classics while he played the accordion.
The family would like to thank the staff at Threshold Home who took such good care of John.
