Born and raised in the Philippines, Loy proclaimed her heritage with pride. Rooted in unwavering faith, she was a devoted Catholic who found joy in sharing stories of her upbringing, large family, and the traditions that shaped her. Naturally meticulous and wonderfully organized, her daily approach incorporated care and intention - her beautiful handwriting was just one example. Loy had a gentle spirit with a hint of sarcasm and humour.
In her early years of raising a family, Loy embraced life as a traveler at heart, creating cherished memories on adventures with relatives near and far. The kitchen was her happy place because preparing food was her love language, nourishing countless family members even in her final days.
