Mariano Espina

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved father, Mariano "Junn" Espina, Jr. Beloved husband of 40 years to Cora. Beloved father to Cookie, Mark Jayzon and Karen. Beloved brother to Aida and Ely, Tito to Marianne and Carmela, father-in-law to Christian and May, and grandfather to Cara, Ava, Hailey and Bryson.

Born and raised in the Philippines, he was ambitious and had big dreams which led him to work in different countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait until he finally settled in Canada with his family since 1996.

Ever an amazing storyteller, he would tell countless stories upon stories to his children about his many adventures. He loved food with a passion and cooked every meal with much care and attention to detail. Always a great listener, he never hesitated to impart his wisdom and instill confidence in his children. He is a great father and grandfather and his love and sacrifices for his family will never be forgotten.

Junn fought cancer valiantly for the past few years. He fought with everything that he had until he took his last breath on Thursday, April 22, 2021 surrounded by family. His affection, caring attitude, wisdom, great cooking and presence will be truly missed.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family is only allowed to have a small and private ceremony. We ask that you keep him and our family in your prayers during this difficult time of our loss.
