Mary Longo Becker

Our Loving Wife, Mother and Nunny, Mary Anna Lucia (nee Longo) Becker, passed away peacefully at home in the company and love of her family on June 11, 2016. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Jeffrey, son Andrew (Luciana), daughter and ”BFF” Kristin (Dwayne) and her two precious grandchildren Jordan and Isla. Mary was the devoted daughter of Cosmo and Nola Longo. Mary cared for her mother through Alzheimer’s disease for 20 years. As her sisters Carolyn (ViK Kuraitis) and Laura (Robert Bubola) and brother Frank (Kathy Longo) remember their dear, baby sister they will be forever grateful for the loving way she cared for their Mom. She met her husband, Jeff, at the University of Western Ontario where Mary received her degree in Economics. She married Jeff Becker on August 5, 1978 at which time she moved to Collingwood and was inducted into the Becker world of skiing with Earl (teacher of all), Fran, Doug and Donna and Janet and Peter. Mary was an avid yard saler always on the hunt to find something that she would create into an amazing work of art. Her artistic ability influenced many interesting and unusual projects which she sold locally. Mary will be missed by both Longo and Becker family members and all of her loyal and dear friends. Our prayer for Mary.....On the wings of Angels, she has joined her family in Heaven. Always loved, never forgotten, an inspiration to us all. Her spirit and strength will guide us in our day to day lives, and help remind us of the important things in life...family, friends, love, joy, integrity, laughter and enjoying life to the fullest. Mary, we will miss your presence but are richer in spirit for the moments spent together. Visitation will be held at Fawcett Funeral Home - Collingwood Chapel on Tuesday June 14, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday June 15, 2016. In lieu of flowers donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
