SWABY, Patrick David – It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Swaby, aged 82, at the Guelph General Hospital, May 31, 2013. He will be dearly missed by his wife Marilyn, step daughters Erin (Alex) and Heather (Russell). Also grieving are his daughters Kathryn (Eric), Michelle (Matthew) and son Bruce (Felicia). He is survived by his previous wife Jackie, dear sisters Kathleen and Pamela and many beloved nephews and nieces. He became the proud grandfather of Jonathan, Miyah, Noah, Sara, Ethan and Jacob. Born in Jamaica, December 17, 1930, Patrick was the eighth and last-born child of Errol and Enid Swaby of Mandeville. Migrating to Canada in the 1970’s, Pat embraced the joys and challenges of living in a new culture. His warm personality, ability to listen and empathize with loved ones and strangers, his passion for dominoes and Manchester United, along with his lively discussions about current events will be greatly missed. Friends will be received for a celebration of Pat’s life at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, in the Hart Fellowship Lounge on Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
