Peter will be dearly missed by his loving high school sweetheart, Audrey, who was his friend and wife for over 60 years. Together they had two treasured children, Stephen (Karen) and Sandra (Jeff), who will always remember and appreciate the unconditional love and support he gave them. His granddaughters Emma (Adam), Sarah, and Leah will be forever grateful for all “Gpa” did for them. Peter will also be missed by his granddogs Kalli, Avery, and Tori who loved his stick library, sleepovers, and endless treats.
Peter is survived by his brother Geoff (Claire), brothers-in-law Jim, Fred (Maureen), and Bruce (Christine) and many nieces and nephews who could always count on Uncle Peter.
After a lengthy career as a millwright, Peter was known as the man who could build or fix anything; he always had a project on the go. After retiring, Audrey and Peter built their dream home in Newbliss, ON and spent 17 happy years in the country making maple syrup, milling lumber, and splitting firewood. Their love of family and a desire to be near their grandkids had them leaving their country life to make a new home in Guelph.
Peter was a cherished member of all communities he called home during his lifetime. He built a great network of friends through volunteer activities, church, hockey and in later years, golf. He never went anywhere without making a new friend.
The Family wishes to thank all the staff on the 5th Floor of Guelph General Hospital for their wonderful care and support.
