Pierina Menegazzo Sartori

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Home, Guelph, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Luigi Sartori (1997). Dearest mother of Walter and his wife Rosemary, Anna Elisa and her husband Valentino Gobbo of Italy, John and his wife Donna, Rosemarie and her husband Tony Minurri of Italy, Patrizio and his wife Lucy, Joel and his wife Daniela, Paula and her husband Rob Hale, Katia and her husband Joe Marieiro, Nadia and her husband Paul Reynolds. Very special Nonna to Silvia and her husband Claudio Pozzobon, Monica and her husband David Bertolo, Dino and his wife Elisha, Rosanna and her husband Steve Gemin, Julia and her husband Sam Commodaro , Joseph Sartori, Lisa and her husband Jason Longato, Vicky Minurri and her husband Luca Chiariello of Italy, Moira Minurri and her husband Alessandro Borghi of Italy, Milena Minurri of Italy, Marina Minurri of Italy, David Gobbo of Italy, Natasha and her partner Mike Dowsett, Mikayla , Michael Hale, Rebecca Hale, and her fiancé Tyson Rice, Olivia Marieiro, Vanessa and Veronika Reynolds. Also very special Bis Nonna to Marcus, Lucas and Nicolas Pozzobon, Cameron and Nicolas Bertolo, Emma and Laura Gemin, Victoria and Sarah Longato, Salina Commodaro, Michela and Alessia Chiariello of Italy, as well as the much anticipated newest members of the family who will be joining us sometime soon – baby Forrest Rice sometime this week and baby Marco Borghi of Italy sometime in January. Nonna Pierina is going to be very busy in heaven helping Nonno Luigi watch over so many! Pierina was the loving sister of the late Marcello Menegazzo and his wife Agnese of Italy, the late Bruno Menegazzo and his wife Antonia of Argentina, the late Emma Quaglio and her husband Renzo of Italy, and sister-in-law to the late Aurelio Sartori and his wife Nidia, Teresina Lacaze and her husband Serge of France, and the late Elisabetta of Italy. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in France, Argentina, and Italy. Pierina will also be missed by her friends, especially Bertilla, Tina, and Pina. Thank you to the staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre for the care and love they showed our Mom. We love her and will miss her so much. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Pierina will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. John’s Church 45 Victoria Rd. N., Guelph, on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Parkinson Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
