Ronald Francis Newton

January 14, 1926-December 16, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Francis Newton on Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Guelph General Hospital in his 97th year. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Winnifred Newton. Beloved husband of Marjorie (nee Scott). Loving father of Joan Burgess-Swant and her husband Doug of Chatham, Scott and his wife Marie of Toronto and Tom and his wife Annette of Aurora. Proud grandfather of Wesley (Mallory), Sarah (John), Philip (Dominique), Andrew (Amie), Christine (Joey), Allison (Jordan), Jillian (Lucas) and Emily and great grandfather of Jack, Sam, Penelope, Bobby, William, Fox and Helios. Dear brother of Roy Newton and predeceased by his sister Peggy and her husband John Suckling, his sister-in-law Ruth Newton and his son-in-law Robert Burgess.

Ron was a devoted husband to Marjorie for 68 years, a loving father and grandfather and a dedicated Rotarian for 70 years. His love for his family and their pets was unparalleled.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at St. George's Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich Street, Guelph. The service will be livestreamed and the link can be found at https://www.saintgeorge.ca/home. Following the service, a reception will take place at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son-Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N. in the Fellowship Lounge. Interment in the Newton Family plot at Beechwood Cemetery, Concord, ON will take place at a later date.
