Rose Ann Mugford

April 7, 1933 - Apr 28, 2023

Rose passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on April 28th, 2023 at St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph at the age of 90 years. She is predeceased by her cherished husband James Mugford (2017), her parents John and Rose Gorman, her sister Mary Urquhart, brothers Jack, William, and Peter Gorman, her daughter, Rosemary, and sons John, Marty, and Peter. Rose was the loving mother of Sherry Bender (Paul), Janice Phelan (Jim), and Joanne Cubbidge (Don). She will be greatly missed by her ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Ruby Gorman of Guelph, Ann Mitchell of Oshawa, June Byrne of Glace Bay, NS, many nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friends.

Rose will always be fondly remembered for her love of music, singing, story-telling, playing cards, and bingo.

We would like to thank the kind staff at St Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph for the care and support shown to Rose and our family during her time there. Memorial contributions to St. Joseph’s in her honour would be appreciated.

As per her wishes, the family will be having a private family graveside service at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. We would like to welcome those who loved her to celebrate her life with us May 15, 2023 at the Red Chevron Club, 34 Elizabeth St Guelph from 12 - 3pm

God's Garden

God looked around His garden

And found an empty place.

He then looked down upon the earth,

And saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you

And lifted you to rest.

God’s garden must be beautiful,

He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,

He knew that you were in pain.

He knew that you would never

Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough

And the hills were hard to climb.

So He closed your weary eyelids

And whispered “Peace be thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you

But you did not go alone…

For part of us went with you

The day God called you home.
