“Eat, Sleep, Golf”. This phrase, embroidered on a cushion in his basement, embodied some of the core elements of the spirit of Ted Sweet. Ted was someone who truly lived life to its fullest. His retirement was spent either on a golf course, or with his family. He gave selflessly to his children and grandchildren. He was well loved by friends and family. He is a role-model of a fulfilled life. Ted died of esophageal cancer on September 18, 2014. We will miss him endlessly and cherish his memory. He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Eleanor, and his children, Ryan and Jennifer and their spouses, Kim and Dave. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Connor, Logan, Sophia, and Miles, and his grand-dog Sam. We would like to thank the Juravinski Cancer Centre, especially Dr. Sur and his team. We would also like to thank the Bayshore Palliative Care team. There will be a memorial service for family and friends at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, Ted requested donations be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or the Guelph Humane Society.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service to be held at a later date.
