With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Bill Kaine. Bill passed away Wednesday October 5th surrounded by his loved ones, following a sudden and catastrophic stroke. Although he was taken quickly from this earth, the impact he left has not.
Born and raised in Guelph, Bill was the second oldest child to the late William and Catherine Kaine. As a determined and hardworking young man, it was no surprise that Bill ventured into the world of business where he started Gambit Industrial Health and Safety Consultants Inc., his pride and joy 26 years ago. Over the years, Bill invested endless energy and pride into the consulting and training programs he developed and delivered to numerous clients across Canada. As someone who enjoyed the challenges and rewards of helping his clients build a safe work environment Bill also valued all of the friendships he built along the way.
Bill left this world a better place than he came into it. He had the respect in both personal and business settings. He always saw the best in others. He was the first to throw out a witty comment. Further, to be the voice of reason and guide those through any situation or topic. Always willing to lend a helping hand to people in need on any level - Bill will be remembered for his heart, do good nature and pure selflessness.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline, whom he has just recently celebrated 45 years of marriage with. A devoted husband, in every sense of the word, Bill and Jackie's world intertwined on a journey together of battles and feats - with pure emphasis - they were in it together. Anyone who knows Bill and Jackie know they had each other's back; always - to the end.
Bill was a proud father and leaves behind 2 children, Lisa and Matthew (Suriya). He was a pillar of strength and direction for them – always with sound advice or a good analogy to put life into perspective. Of course, with nothing less than a good witty comment! We also have to mention his 'other Lisa' who was like a daughter to him, a business confidant and more importantly his friend. Bill will also be greatly missed by his little fur boy Jagger Kaine.
As Bill moves into the next chapter of his journey, he will be welcomed with open arms by his mother and father along with his mother-in-law Dawn Prestipino.
He leaves behind brothers and sisters Margaret (Ed), Cathy (Bruce), Jim (Rhonda) and Marie.
The family would like to thank Guelph EMS and Fire Department, the emergency department staff at the Guelph General Hospital, the Stroke and ICU Team along with the Social Workers at Hamilton General for the care and compassion they showed Bill and his family during this time.
A private funeral has taken place at Sacred Heart Church.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made in his memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
