

Passed away peacefully, at the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Ruth Jones In her 100th year was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Ewart A. Jones (2007). She was the loving mother of Megan (David Swinson), Gwenyth, Evan (Betty), Bronwyn (Quentin Strub), David (Corinne) and Owen. Ruth was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was the dear sister of the late Joan Hunter.
In addition to raising her own six children, Ruth was a second mother to many Barber Avenue kids and friends of her own kids. She was also involved in many volunteer activities, such as St. George’s Church, driving cancer patients to Toronto for treatment and the Embroiderers’ Guild of Guelph. She was a warm and supportive person, always have a kind word or joke to share with everyone she met and was one of the greatest huggers of all time.
Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St N., Guelph on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich St. Guelph on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 11a.m.Cremation with interment of ashes at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph.
