

He was born on May 9th 1954 in Opalenica to parents Władysław Rutkowski and Janina Klöj. Youngest of three siblings, Wojciech is survived by sister, Danuta Bassa and predeceased his oldest sister, Ewa Rutkowska-Grzywacz.
After escaping communism in 1984 he found refuge in Italy and then finally called Canada his permanent home in 1986. A retired truck driver, Wojciech loved mechanics, especially cars and airplanes. Additionally he was a lover of Arts and enjoyed Western movies, music, dancing and carpentry.
Wojciech will be lovingly remembered for his witty sense of humor, generous heart and his dedication to his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife Elżbieta, his children, Anita (Krzysztof), Andrzej (Caryl), Ania (Nikolajs), Ola (Karol) and Agnieszka (James); and his grandchildren, Zuzanna, Adam, Milena, Łukasz, and Evalina.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday March 16th 2026 at 11 am at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St, Guelph. The Rosary will be recited at the church at 10:30 a.m.
