MACKINNON, Zoe Elizabeth— Peacefully, with her loving family by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer, on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Guelph General Hospital in her 55th year. Zoe was a long-time employee of Canada Post. She was a Canadian Olympian, was inducted into the U of T Sports Hall of Fame and an auxiliary officer of the Peel Regional Police. She will be fondly remembered and forever loved by her partner Liz Schieck and her sons Chris and Scott; by step-father Bob Shaw (Beth); by brother Nick (Lynn) and their children Clea and Jake; by brother Mitch; by sister Fran (Terry) and her daughter Melissa (Marco) and also by her best friends Sandy and Hester. Predeceased by her mother Betty Shaw. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Saturday, February 1st, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. A celebration of Zoe’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 5pm. with a reception to follow.
