

Antoinette (Nettie Grana) Terrien, 81, passed away February 21, 2014 in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. She was born August 7, 1932 in Waukegan, Illinois. Antoinette was a Member and Treasurer of the American GI Forum Auxiliary from 1975 to 1980, was elected as the AGI Auxiliary Chair in 1981 representing the Board for Lake County and the State of Illinois, and served as personnel Chairperson of SER Jobs for Progress representing the Women’s Auxiliary.
Antoinette was a paraprofessional at the Waukegan School District serving 16 ½ years at Carmen Elementary. She served on the organizational team to implement the first Union of Paraprofessionals for The Federation of Teachers Local 504. She held the position of President in that role for two years and held position of Vice President for 2 years. During that tenure she held position as personnel Chairperson and organized the first monthly newsletter for the paraprofessionals. She retired in 1997 from the Waukegan School District.
She is survived by seven children; daughters Susan Hull, Sharon Hill, Kathryn Adgate, Karen (Brian) Smith, Diane (Mick) Doolan, and two sons; David (Diana) Terrien, Patrick Terrien, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister Josephine Lucci, brother David Grana and Aunt Angeline Jeffers.
Proceeded in death by husband, Charles E. Terrien and great grandson, Gage Hill. Visitation will be Friday February 28 from 5-8pm and Saturday from 10-11am with a Funeral Service at 11am at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee. Burial at Ascension Cemetery.
