To Bev-
Oh the wonderful memories of growing up together, the church youth group, the parties in your parents family room, the diaries we so faithfully wrote in each night and shared with each other, the weekend dances in Evanston (that were for Catholics only and we would memorize various prayers to get in), the fears we shared when going off to college, the many hours we spent secretly smoking- I am sure your parents knew- when talking about life, school, boys, futures, fears and parents, forging our art teacher's signature to get out of study hall to do what—nothing really, and the summer trips to Crivitz-- packing a lunch and rowing down the river by your cabin, swimming in the lake and watching the raccoon family climbing up the tree,  picking wild blueberries and bringing them back to the cabin before anyone was up to eat for breakfast, and parties your parents had with the Goulds.  
Before long, we both were married a year apart and the children came and we still made it to Crivitz with kids in tow.  Ted's untimely death and my divorce left us both raising children alone, yet we still made it to Crivitz with kids in tow.  We managed to attend our 25th high school reunion together and left the six kids at home alone for a night.  We attended the July 4th celebration in Glenview with the children when the explosion occurred and we had to run fast as the black cloud of smoke almost engulfed us.  Then there were the kid's weddings and the grandkids.  And many, many phone calls inbetween.  Our last event together was our 50th high school reunion in Oct. of 2010.  Looking back it was a bitter-sweet moment, as your illness hit and all of our future plans were not meant to be.  But I have memories, wonderful memories.  Thank you for sharing your life with me and being a truly beautiful friend.  I love you and will miss you.

Many of Bev's and my memories included you and I hope that you are able to look back and enjoy all the wonderful times we have had together and find peace.  You were a very special sister to Bev and how you cared for her showed that.  My prayers are with you.
To Lisa, Susan, and Darren,
The three of you were the pride and joy of your Mother's life.  She loved you dearly and did a wonderful job raising you alone. May you find peace.   My prayers are with you.

Lisa, I am so sorry for your loss.Please know that your friends are here if you need a shoulder to cry on or just someone to listen..

Diane and Lisa- 
I feel like a part of me has died.  We let parallel lives growing up- living just down the street from each other- discovering things together- love of Buddy Holly and Elvis- lip syncing If I had a hammer together- hating high school together- learning about the wonders of beer and Peyton Place- the joy of nature and Crivitz and the friends we shared.  I fondly remember those things and more- and what a great and giving person Bev was-

I have such wonderful memories of your mom.  Hanging out at the house on Glenview Rd, she was so kind and funny, and always treated me like I was her own kid.  I loved our trip to Wisconsin, that will always be a special memory for me.  And most recently, as we both battled cancer, her support meant so much to me.

Bev was a wonderful lady, and she will be missed.  I am so sorry for you (Lisa) and your family's loss.  I love you.

I always enjoyed your mom, Lisa.  Bev was a talented, sweet, down to earth person... and she cherished her grandkids.  At this difficult time, Gary and I hope you find comfort in the love ones that surround you.  I am sure you, Tim, and the kids have many wonderful memories of your mom and we hope these memories bring you some peace.  We send all our love to you and your family. Gina and Gary Cleland
