Brian was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Aimi; his children, Charlie, Sarah (Keith), and Jessica; his cherished grandson, Grayson; and his brothers, Keith (Megan) Jablonowski and Todd Jablonowski. He is also survived by his former wife, Julie. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ellen Jablonowski.
Brian proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that he held with great pride.
He had a large presence and a loud voice to match. He was an honest man who wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, one who could captivate with his stories and loved to laugh and, in turn, make others laugh as well.
He taught his children patience and gave them an appreciation for the outdoors through camping, hunting and fishing. As a dad, he was strict, but caring – a hard-ass in the best way possible He would do anything for his kids and his grandson and always did his best to share interest in the things that were important to the people he loved. He was so very proud of the fantastic humans that his children have become. He was so grateful to have met his grandson, who made him a softer person.
Brian loved to cook. No one could smoke a rack of ribs like him. He kept his secret recipes so secret that he didn’t even write them down. His cooking brought everyone together and even found a way to make healthy foods tasty. He truly cooked with all the love he had to give.
He had a deep love and respect for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Some of his happiest moments were spent on Lake Michigan, fishing for salmon, trout, and perch aboard The Playwright, where he partnered with his brother. Whether on the water or in the woods, Brian found peace in nature and joy in sharing those experiences with family and friends. When he was unable to find his joy in nature, Brian enjoyed bowling with his brother.
Brian was a true gentleman. For Aimi, he was the love of her life. His devotion, kindness, and genuine loyalty made him an amazing partner, father, brother, and friend. Brian will be remembered for his strength, resilience, and the way he showed up for the people he loved. Despite the challenges of his illness, he faced each day with determination and courage. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, April 1st at 11:00 AM at Wilmette Harbor Club. Family and friends are invited to attend and honor Brian’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a cancer research organization of your choice.
Brian will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
