

Chad LaRoy Borg, age 59, of Waukegan, passed away January 16, 2026.surrounded by his parents and niece. Chad was born on January 7, 1967, in Waukegan. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, grandpa, and father who found great joy in his family and the time spent with those he loved.
Chad worked for his father, Keith at Borg’s Construction Company for several years. Through the years Chad soaked in all his father knowledge and excelled at being a carpenter. Keith and Chad’s partnership was built on hard work and a deep father-son bond.
From a young age, Chad was drawn to the thrill of race car driving. His dedication and talent quickly set him apart, and his hard work was recognized when he earned Rookie of the Year. Racing was more than a sport to Chad; it reflected his fearless spirit and his desire to push beyond limits.
Chad’s racing career and life were forever changed following a serious racing accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury. Though the accident altered his path, it never erased who he was at his core or his love for racing. Chad could still be found Saturday nights in the pits helping however he could.
Chad continued to face life with courage, supported by the love of his family, who stood by him through every challenge. He was especially grateful for his parents Keith & Tama and sister Rachelle, and their unwavering love and support. Always happy and family-oriented, Chad will be remembered for his love of racing, his gratitude for life, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.
Chad is survived by his parents, Keith and Tama Borg, along with his niece, sons, grandson, and extended family, along with many friends who will miss him dearly. Chad was preceded in death by his favorite little sister, Rachelle.
Visitation will be held on January 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee, Illinois. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with burial at Warren Cemetery immediately afterward.
