Christine Lynn Kritchevsky

Chris was born January 13, 1960 in Libertyville, IL, the middle child of Allen Lloyd and Alma Jean (May) Schreck. She lived the majority of her life in Lake County, IL. She met her loving husband, William Wolf Kritchevsky, at the corporate offices of Baxter Healthcare in Deerfield, IL, where they both worked. She married Bill at an outdoor ceremony at her childhood home on June 15, 1986. Together, they raised their son, Daniel Allen, of North Hollywood, CA.

Chris was a sweet, friendly soul who loved to visit and linger at social gatherings with family or friends, always offering a warm smile and great companionship. She attended Immanuel Church in Gurnee, IL. Some years ago, she developed a passionate, holistic-health mentality and strove to keep her body and soul fed with natural supplements and organic foods, including fruits, vegetables, and herbs she enjoyed growing at home.

Chris’s favorite vacation spot was Hawaii, which she enjoyed annually with Bill and Daniel. If her feet could be grounded in the sand or grass, and she could smell the perfumes of the island, she was in her happy place. Before her illness, Chris thoroughly enjoyed bowling in a weekly league and Friday date nights with Bill at Libertyville restaurants.

Chris attended Oak Grove School and Libertyville High School, where she was proud to participate in their strong alumni circles. She attended the College of Lake County and earned an associate’s degree. After ten years of employment at Baxter Healthcare, Chris devoted herself full time to raising her son, Daniel, and beloved pet Comet.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Allen and Jean Schreck. Surviving are her husband, Bill, and son, Daniel; two siblings, Wayne Allen Schreck (Karen) of Scottsdale, AZ, and Connie Jean Pfeifer (Tim) of Libertyville, IL; sister-in-law, Gina Kritchevsky (Ken Jackson, deceased) of Prescott, AZ; nieces and nephews, Dierdre (Ben) Woodruff, Ben Schreck, Eric (Amanda) Pfeifer, and Lauren (Cody) Burge; grand nieces and nephews, Britain, Judah and Arabella Woodruff, Lincoln and Milo Schreck, Callie Burge, and Daphne Pfeifer.

Visitation will be held at Marsh Funeral Home (305 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL 60031) on Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 PM.
