

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, Illinois, followed by interment at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville.
Connie was born on June 15, 1943, in the Philippines. In 1977, she came to the United States, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and friendship. She retired as a Production Assembly Worker from Ferrite International.
Connie found great comfort and strength in her Catholic faith. She was devoted to her church and prayer group, and loved to pray for family and friends. She was known for bringing people together, sharing meals, and extending kindness wherever she went. Her warm smile and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone she knew.
Connie was also deeply patriotic and proud to call the United States home. She generously supported organizations that reflected her values and compassion for others, including the Wounded Warrior Project, American Legion Charities, Children's Wisconsin Foundation, and the Parkinson's Foundation.
She enjoyed traveling, celebrating life's special occasions, dancing, and playing bingo. She also enjoyed tending to her collection of house plants and staying in touch with family and friends both in the United States and the Philippines. Connie took pride in her appearance and enjoyed fashion, beautiful accessories, and looking elegant and put together.
Connie is survived by her children and their families: Josel Romay and his wife Kathleen and their son Jonathan Romay; Stephannie Bohr and her son Nicholas Crane; Steve Bohr and his wife, Heather, and children, Kayli and Gage Bohr. Connie is also survived by her beloved stepchildren and their families: Lisa Polnow and her husband Glen, and their daughters Anna Polnow and Kelli Jones, and her husband Shelby; Kurt Johnson and his children Joey Johnson and his wife, Lasel, and their children, Eli and Evalynn; Morgan Caruso and her husband Steven and their children , Nora and Harrison; Courtney Buchanan and her husband Quinton and their children, Henry and Theodore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Johnson, a retired United States Navy veteran; her father, Sergio Romay; and her mother, Cristita Romay.
Connie's greatest joy was the people she loved. She lived a full life, and her memory will remain in the hearts of the family and friends she cherished.
