Dolores Santana

She was preceded in death by her mother Alice (Gonzales) Hernandez and by her two sons. She is survived by her children; Ismael “JR” Santana, Joselin Angelica Santana, Nelson Ismael (Fiancé Roxanne Sanchez) Santana, Grandson Ismael Santana III “Tre”, Her Father, Ascension “Henry” Hernandez; siblings Yolanda Hernandez, Lisa Renee (Orlando) Cruz, Deacon Marcelino (Brenda Dersam), Charles (Judith O’Leary) Hernandez, Nieces and Nephews Rosalinda Marie Cruz, Sergio Orlando (Juanita Marie Perez) Cruz, Antonio Vincent Hernandez, Justina Louise Gayle Hernandez, Meghan Ann Hernandez, Joseph (Fiancé Justine) Six, Great Nieces and Nephews Clarissa Camp, Raiden Six, Layla Six, Ezekiel Orlando Cruz, Emira Jade Cruz and Elina Rose Cruz and many extended family members.

Dolores loved all music (especially Salsa), dancing, Teaching Catechism, reading her Bible, spending time with her friends and their children, who became like her own. She never placed judgment on anyone. She loved playing the guitar with her dad.

During her employment career while raising her three children, she worked at Allstate, Abbott Laboratories and landed at the Waukegan Public School District #60; where she worked at the Welcome Center as a Registrar.

Throughout her tenure as a Registrar she met numerous co-workers, parents and students.

Dolores was an advocate for higher learning and encouraged the students to continue their education; just like her mom, Alice G. Hernandez.

Dolores leaves behind many friends and many who love her to cherish her memory; especially her two childhood friends Lisa Perez-Vasquez and Eneida (Rodriguez) Bermudez.

A visitation for Dolores will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church, 10655 W Wadsworth Rd, Beach Park, IL 60099. Burial at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
