In 1940, she met the “Love of Her Life”, Stanley Such, and were married
for 45 years. Stanley passed away in 1985. Dorothy was devoted mother to Suzanne (Robert) Nyck of Gurnee and Kenneth of Lake Villa).
In 1953, Dorothy began work at Mary’s Navy Tailors in North Chicago. This was a job she loved for 35 years. Dorothy always enjoyed meeting and helping Navy “Sailors” which she considered her “other” family.
Dorothy loved her children Ken and Sue, and grandchildren Christina (Don) Perry and Jennifer (Tom ) Andrzejewski more than anything else. Her love and devotion were boundless in life. Every family occasion and holiday was spent together with loved ones. To many, she was called “Grandma Dorothy”.
Dorothy’s family and friends were many. Special recognition over the years goes to Mary Stack and son John; Agnes Mack and daughter Lynn (Bobel); Millie, Bruce, and Gary Miller; John and Dorothy DeRohan; Cathy and Dan Kouba, Jim and Carol Barrett; Virginia, Ron, and Gale Misiora.
Dorothy lived in North Chicago and Park City for many years. In 2017, she resided at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Facility in Lake Villa. A special thanks to the staff for special care and professional work that contributed to well-being and comfort in the later years.
Dearest Mother and Grandmother, we miss you. Your spirit of love, life, and family will long be remembered.
Visitation will be held at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 North Cemetery Road, Gurnee, Il 60031 on Wednesday December 19, 2018 from 4 to 8PM. Private entombment Thursday December 20, 2018 at WoodLawn Memorial Park Cemetery 7600 W. Cermak Road Forest Park, Il.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
