Elaine Alengo, 91, of Gurnee Illinois, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born on January 17, 1935 in Chicago, Elaine was the child of Lillian and Thomas Taylor. She graduated from Amundsen High School in Chicago and received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Northern Illinois Teachers College prior to embarking on a 40 plus year career in elementary education.
Elaine enjoyed scrapbooking and will be remembered for creating beautiful scrapbooks for her grandchildren.
Elaine is survived by her husband Joseph Alengo, David Alengo and Cindy Fletcher ( children ). Also survived by her brother, Thomas N. Taylor, Jr, five nieces and nephews, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on April 13, 2026 at 11:00 am at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee, Illinois
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
