Elda M. (nee Harms) Bennett, 87, passed away on January 13, 2015. She attended Bethel Lutheran Church in Gurnee, St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wadsworth and Village Church of Gurnee. She was active in church and directed the church choir for many years. Elda was in private practice for family counseling in Wauconda. She is survived by 3 children, Tim (Sue) Bennett, Jody Bennett, Tom (Patty) Bennett; and daughter-in-law, Karen Bennett; 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Chris and Amy Bennett, Jessalyn (Foster) Lake, Miles (Elizabeth) Bennett and Madison Bennett; 1 great-grandchild, Noah Bennett. Preceded in death by her son, Jim Bennett; 3 sisters, Beata, Vera and Lota; and 1 brother, Erhart. A Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home. Funeral service Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Village Church of Gurnee, 1319 Hunt Club Rd., Gurnee, IL. Interment at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
