On Saturday, December 21, an Angel stopped by Advocate Condell Medical Center, in Libertyville, IL and took George Lewis, age 71, of Waukegan, to his eternal home as he was surrounded by his family and friends. What a blessing to have known “Butchie” all of our lives! He grew up with us in Danville Ky and all six of us Logan kids remained friends. Our parents were best friends with his parents. Butchie and Gloria even attended our Family Reunion in Dallas Texas in 2015. He was such a gentle kind and loving soul! Hats off to Gloria and family for your courage, faith and loving care given him during his illness. I will miss him all my days! Rest in Heaven dear friend! Until we meet again! 🙏🏽 Revella and Ellsworth Love.

I'm gonna miss you my friend and former classmate. I think of the days of our youth growing up in Danville and running across Randolph Hill; and the time you scored the winning touchdown against KSD. Yeah, I'll never forget! Rest in peace, my friend...Charles Andrews

We were lucky enough to have met George and Gloria almost 40 years ago. They were more than friends, they are family. Our Children called them Uncle and Aunt and people were always trying to figure out the family connection - which was love. George was a Virgo, as was I and we had some lively debates over the years. We supported each other’s family and watched all the kids grow up. Our family gatherings were the most fun. George made the best ribs and he loved our tamales. George will continue having lively discussions with family and friends in heaven and we all now have a loving guardian angel.
