Gregory A. Bauer, 86, born in Chicago, passed away June 7, 2014. Gregory was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a caring and generous man who was a mentor to many. Son of Joseph and Helen; brother to Phyllis (Gene), Marygrace (Dick), Helene (Bob) and Claudia (Howard); husband of Dorothy; father to Martha (Steve); grandfather to Tommy (Deedra), Adam, and Samuel; Great-grandfather to Braxton and Lexi; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Gregory went to Lane Tech High School, received a bachelors degree in chemical engineering from IIT, served in the Army in WWII, and retired from Abbott Labs after 35 years. He was a religious man that enjoyed golfing and fishing. A memorial service will be held at 10am Thursday, June 19, 2014 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee.
