Gregory Tsitiridis, born on November 1, 1951, in Piraeus, Greece, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024, in Lake Forest, Illinois. He is survived by his devoted spouse, Gena, of 36 years, and his cherished children, Teddy, George, and James (Molly, fiancée). He is also survived by his siblings Tina (George, deceased) Caragiannedis, Kalliopi (George, deceased) Boondas, and Peter (Ellie), as well as his beloved nieces and nephews. The love Greg shared for his family was simply undeniable. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Francesca, and by his brother Michael (Ursula).
At the age of 12, Greg moved to the United States from Salamis, Greece, where he began a remarkable journey that would shape the rest of his life. His dedication not only benefitted his family, but our country. Greg enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he underwent training at Parris Island, South Carolina from 1971-1974.
Later, he attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida where he received a degree in Aviation Technology. During his days at Daytona Beach, he made friends that would last a lifetime. His dedication and passion for his craft led to a distinguished career spanning over 30 years at United Airlines. He also was involved in the family restaurant business for many years where he met the love of his life who he would go on to marry. His other interests included cooking, soccer, history, and nature.
In 1989, he took on a new role that changed everything; the year Greg became “Da”. As a father, Greg loved to play and travel with his three boys. The joyful family trips are forever preserved in countless photos and home videos.
Greg was known by all who met him as the sweetest, kindest man. He had a heart of gold, and his infectious laugh could brighten up any room. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering kindness made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. You will be deeply missed and forever adored. Rest in peace, Greg. We love you, Da.

A visitation for Gregory will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home. Funeral on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1400 O'Plaine Rd. Libertyville, IL. Followed by interment at New Gracanica Serbian Monastery 35240 W. Grant Ave
