Hazel M. Maloney (nee Neperud) was born in North Dakota in 1918 and died on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at exactly 99 ½ years old. She spent her long life loving and caring for people and brightening the lives of everyone she knew. Hazel was born in North Dakota, raised in Wisconsin, received her B.A. in education and went on to teach in Montello, WI. where she met her husband Gerald Maloney. They settled in Waukegan, where Hazel spent the next 70+ years until moving to the Village at Victory Lakes in Lindenhurst. Hazel loved playing the piano, crafting and staying in touch with her many friends and relatives.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her many aunts and uncles, her sisters Gladys and Marjorie, her son, Michael and her husband. She is survived by her sister Harriet Anderson and many loving relatives including members of the Lenzen, Matthews, Breyer, Anderson, Lee and Gauper families. They will remember Hazel for her generous spirit and many stories of a rich, remarkable life.
Visitation 10 am - 11 am on Saturday July 22, 2017 followed by a brief service, will be at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, IL at 11am.
Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
