August 3, 1922 – June 2, 2018
Helen Radovic, at 95, died peacefully on June 2, 2018 in Henderson, Nevada. Helen was born Aug 5, 1922 in Turek, Poland, the daughter of Josef and Marianna Morek. Early years, time was spent with her siblings Mary, Kasha, Jonina, Kathy & Vincent helping their parents attend to the family farm. As a child, she found pleasure raising goats and helping the family by collecting wood for the home and tending to their fields. During adolescence, Helen and her sisters worked summers in Germany where she learned to cook, sew and save. During WWII, Helen met the love of her life, Zdravko and they were married. Post war, the couple immigrated to the USA and began life in Chicago, Illinois where Helen remained until 1989. While in Chicago, she became a widow, raised one child, meticulously maintained a home, worked 23 years as a Butcher Sausage Maker, then 12 years as a foreman floor-lady. In 1989, Helen retired to Las Vegas, Nevada where she enjoyed ample sunshine, building strong friendships and traveling abroad to reacquaint with family. Always industrious, Helen cared for many domestic animals over the years including those abandoned and was a talented gardener. Standing 4’11” she accomplished much, quietly, honestly and was known to carry a stick when making a point. Helen is survived by her son Joseph Zdravko, his wife Theresa Ann and her granddaughter Natalya Marie. She also leaves behind two loving godchildren, Dianne Sivoli-Kramer and Walter Groszko who have always held a special place in her heart. Helen requested a prompt burial to be rejoined with her husband Zdravko. The family wishes to thank all who were part of her life. Viewing will be from 10am-Noon on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee, Illinois - to follow with a graveside service at St. Sava Orthodox Cemetery on Milwaukee Ave, Gurnee, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a local animal shelter of your choosing.

“Always do a good job, maybe not perfect - but never sloppy”
