Herman was born in Mobile, AL in 1947 to Herman and Cenia Frieson. In his early years he would spend the summers in Monroeville on the family’s farm. To escape the southern heat you could often find him eating his favorite cold treat, an ice cream sandwich.
After graduating high school, Herman went on to join the United States Army, where he served his country in telecommunication. After the army, he moved to Chicago where he met his beloved wife Esther and the rest is history. Herman would often return home to go fishing on the Gulf of Mexico with his brothers. He enjoyed going to his campsite at Woodhaven Lakes with his family. You could always catch him sitting in the King’s Chair at 10 AM to watch The Price Is Right.
Herman was a great storyteller as well. He told his grandkids countless stories of his childhood and army days. His soulful and happy go lucky personality will be missed. The endless smiles and laughter he brought to everyone will be deeply missed.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Cenia Frieson, his youngest son Shawn Frieson and he is survived by his wife, Esther Frieson, his son Marcel and Demetrious Frieson, Anthony Rigazio, as well as his siblings: Lloyd, William, Lillian, Deborah, Valerie, Lorene, Ernestine, Bobbie Jean, Jeraldine and Jerome.
