

Ignacio Roberto Borromeo Taday, 69, of Antioch, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025 in Antioch, IL. Born on October 11, 1955 in Iriga City, Philippines to the late Remedios (née Borromeo) and Sotero Panga Taday, Ignacio was a beloved son, brother, cousin, uncle, co-worker, friend, father, and husband. He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor (dad jokes galore), joyfulness, dance moves, hard work ethic, and unwavering love for his family.
Ignacio was a proud graduate of the University of Northeastern Philippines where he met the love of his life, Imelda (née Vargas), of 34 years. From there, he went on to immigrate to the United States in 1993 and had a long and distinguished career as a Chemical Dispensing Technician at Abbott Laboratories. Outside of his work, he enjoyed singing and listening to music, watching his favorite teams, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, and Chicago Bears, watching movies, and spending time with his family.
Ignacio is survived by his loving wife Imelda; his children, Ruby (Geoffrey), Roselle (Remar), Romelle (Alan), and Riane (Christopher); his grandchildren, Logan Robert, Casey Joseph, and Lyanna Imelie; his sisters, Primadonna, Georgiena, and Marilou; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Remedios and Sotero; and brothers, Ernesto, Fernando, Edmundo, and Genciano.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 4PM to 8PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee, IL
