James C. Weber, age 83, of Gurnee, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. James was born October 12, 1937 in Chicago, IL to Herbert and Marie Weber. After high school, James spent time working his parents dude ranch in Grand Lake Colorado where he developed a love of horses and the outdoors.
He was an avid hunter in his youth traveling out west many times where he hunted elk, moose and antelope. James retired after 38 years at UPS as a driver and beloved union steward. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church. His pride and joy was restoring classic trucks one for each of his five grandsons. He enjoyed spending time with his 8 grandchildren
James is survived by his three children; Ann (Clint) Lebiecki, Jim (Cathy) Weber and Amy (Stan) Peceny; eight grandchildren, Curtis, Jimmy, Sarah, Mary, Johnny, Matthew, Joey and Maggie; a brother, Tom (Jean) Weber; and special friends Joe and Rosemary Smith.
He was preceded in death by his former wife Carol Weber; and siblings, Joanne Fratto and Doug Weber.
A visitation for James will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 9:00 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee, IL. Followed by an interment at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
