Jodie Elizabeth Stastny

Jodie Elizabeth Stastny, 34 years old of Waukegan, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 3rd, 2017. Jodie was born January 20th, 1983 in Park Ridge, IL. She is survived by her mother, Julie Stastny (Thomas Casten); sister, Jennifer Stastny; grandmother Carole Manning; aunts Beth Deram; Amy (Andres) Gonzalez; and Barbara Lopez; uncle John Manning; and her cherished cousins Kim, Chris, Josh, Ben, Frank, Patrick, Ryan, and Hannah. She is also survived by many more cousins, friends, and her K-Crew sisters. Jodie worked seasonally as a traveling medical technician for Interactive Health. She loved to travel all over the U.S. and greatly enjoyed her work. It allowed her to go to new places and meet all kinds of people. Jodie's beautiful spirit was larger than life, and she always saw the good in everyone she met. Her heart always lied in helping people and saving animals, and she lived her life accordingly. She touched so many lives, and we are all better because of it. Jodie is preceded in death by her father James M. Stastny; maternal grandfather Richard Manning; paternal grandparents Patricia and Henry Stastny; aunt Debra Tway; uncle David Stastny; and her beloved cat Mason. Services will be held at Gurnee Marsh Funeral Home on 305 N. Cemetary Rd, Gurnee IL 60031 (847-336-0127). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7th, from 5-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 8th at Redeemer Lutheran Church 620 W. Grove Ave., Waukegan IL 60085 (847-336-4891), with Pastor Wayne Jahn officiating, starting at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be at North Shore Garden of Memories, North Chicago IL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the family in Jodie's honor. "I love you to the moon and back!"
