It seemed as though we knew Joe forever, he and Les were part of the family, the family you choose and we're thankful that they chose us as well. They were friends, the kind that listened no matter where you were coming from and gave advise that came from a place of love and compassion. They both accepted and gave love and laughter with ease and we're open and accepting, some might say to a fault. We are better people for having had them in our lives. We are so saddened by the passing of Joe and thankful to have Les still in our lives. We will continue to carry both in our hearts and minds and extend our heartfelt condolences to Les, Chris, Jane, Elan, Bryce, Jenna, Brynne, Mark, Leslie, Kyle, Jeane and Harry.

I met Joe for the first time in 1975. Michael brought me out to Illinois to meet his best friends. We were going out to dinner, Les was taking forever, and Joe and I were starved. Joe went into the fridge and got each of us a slice of american cheese. I loved him, and Les had my heart the moment we met. I have never known a more loving and caring couple. He will be forever missed. 💔😢

Joe was one of the nicest and friendliest people I've known. I knew him when he and Leslie were boaters in Waukegan and then again on a professional level at the collision center. Whenever I saw him he was engaging and had some story to tell . I'm glad I met him ...
