Joseph P. Schaberger

Joseph P. Schaberger, of Grayslake, IL passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at Lutheran General Hospital on May 19, 2025. He was born on September 27, 1931, in Chicago, IL to Peter and Elizabeth Schaberger. Joe married the love of his life, Rose Marie Tarquinio on August 14, 1954. She preceded him in death on December 5, 2011

For many years Joe belonged to the Gagewood Lions Club and was a little league baseball coach. Joe was very active in the Community serving as a Warren Township Trustee. During Joe’s earlier years he was a carpenter by trade, owning his own business; Gagewood Builders. He retired from Lake County Public Works. Joe was an avid Cubs and Chicago Bears fan! "What Joe loved and what brought him the most joy, was spending time with his Family. He will be greatly missed!"

Joe is survived by his loving daughters; JoAnn (Frank) Stubenvoll and Dianne (Micheal) Hamel. 5 Grandchildren: Matt (Amanda), Tim (Alyce), Joe (Arielle), Samantha (Garrett) and David (Hailey). Joe is also survived by 8 Great-Grandchildren: Maxwell, Julia, Jasper, Lucy, Donald, Bryn, Rowan, Ruby and Sister-in-law, Frances Tarquinio and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by infant son, Robert and son Joseph, Jr. and Great-Granddaughter, Sunny and including two brothers, three sisters and many other extended family members.

A visitation for Joseph will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the Marsh Funeral Home (305 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL) from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Another visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the funeral home from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow the service at highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, IL.
