

Juan Angel Diaz Jr., 58, of Wadsworth, Illinois passed away on May 25, 2022 surrounded by his family. Juan was born in Waukegan, Illinois at St. Therese Hospital on January 6, 1964 to Juan and Josephine Diaz. He was the first born of 3 boys.
In 2014 Juan married the love of his life, Susan; they shared 18 beautiful loving years together. Juan always made Susan smile and laugh; he was a funny, happy, upbeat person who had a smile or a kind word for everyone.
Juan had one son, David, whom he loved fiercely.
Juan had recently retired from the Lake County Sheriff's Department where he served for 32 years as a Corrections Officer. This was more than just a job to him; he took his responsibility very seriously and gave his best every day. He had tremendous camaraderie with his brothers and sisters in corrections and with the deputies and developed many friendships from his career.
Juan was also a long time Elk member, an organization he respected and committed himself to, rising up in the ranks to Exalted Ruler.
He enjoyed being with his wife, taking day trips or overnight getaways whenever possible, family, close friends, vegetable gardening, fishing, cooking and golf.
Juan is survived by his loving wife, Susan, his son David (Mikki), his parents Juan Sr. and Josephine, his brother Ricardo (Carolyn) as well as a niece and a nephew, and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by a younger brother, David.
A visitation for Juan will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. Service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at The Chapel, 1200 American Way, Libertyville, IL 60048. Burial private.
