Judith M. Brown

Judy was a proud member of the graduating class of 1959 from Peoria Central High School. She went on to further her education at Stephens College in Columbia, MO. Upon graduation she took a job teaching 3rd grade and married her sweetheart John T. (Lynn) Brown on November 23, 1963. They would move to Arlington Heights, IL and go on to start a family and raise 3 wonderful children: Scott Brown (Kimberly) of Muncie, IN, Amy Martin (Patrick) of Gurnee, IL, and Molly Lauer (John) of Lake Zurich, IL. She has been blessed with 6 grandchildren: Alanna, Amanda, Cindy, Kellen, Megan and Michael and 5 nieces and nephews.

Judy would go on to take job opportunities in retail, photography and ended her career in sales. She excelled in these jobs and made many life-long friends along the way. Judy was a member of Junior Women’s League in both Peoria and Arlington Heights and was an avid volunteer. Judy was very loving, witty, smart and funny. She would light up a room upon entering it and was a beautiful person inside and out. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and brother James M. Elson, Jr. of Peoria, IL.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hillcrest Nursing Center for their care and compassion over the last 2 years.

Family and friends are invited to attend her celebration of life on Saturday, July 9 at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031. Visitation will be from 9 – 11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow. A light lunch will be served immediately following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
