Julie Ellen (Rose) Meadie

Julie E. Meadie, 65, of Gurnee, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital. Julie was born on January 20, 1960 in Waukegan, IL to Charles and Corrine Rose. She attended Waukegan public schools and graduated from Waukegan High School in 1978. Julie and Donald Meadie were married at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Waukegan in 1983. She worked for many years at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute in Gurnee until her retirement. Julie and Don were members of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Waukegan. She loved to read, crochet, and especially enjoyed going out to dinner with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father-in-law, Fran and Fred Tegel.

Julie is survived by her husband, Donald; her son, Patrick and his girlfriend Lexi; three sisters, Kit, Jill (Fritz) and Susie; two nieces, Caroline (Jason) and Liza (Mark); five great nieces and nephews, Charlotte, Rafa, Sam, Whitney and Remy as well as other family and many friends.

A visitation for Julie will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at St. Brigid Parish Church of St. Patrick (15000 West Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth, IL) with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am. Following Mass, entombment will take place at Ascension Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum (1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, IL).
