

Kathleen was born on July 19, 1948 in Ottumwa IA. During her formative years, the family left Ottumwa for Park Forest, IL and a brief relocation to Tennessee. The family returned to and settled in Park Forest, where she spent her adolescent years, attending Rich Central High School (graduated 1966).
After college and a handful of jobs, including working at the Canadian Consulate in Chicago, the bulk of her career spanned 30 years as an administrative assistant at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago and Hospira in Lake Forest. During most of this period she lived in Gurnee, married to James R. Toto of Waukegan, and raised two sons while working full-time. After divorce she moved to Kenosha, where she lived for the remainder of her career and retirement.
During retirement, she spent time traveling with girlfriends, visiting with her sister Susan and her best friend Barb, and going on cruises and vacationing in beloved Door County, WI.
She was an avid Beatlemaniac and loved the music of Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett. She was a die-hard Cubs and Bears fan. Other hobbies included antiquing, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking for others, particularly on special occasions like birthdays and holidays.
Beloved mother of Patrick of Gurnee, IL and Tony of Kenosha, WI. Cherished sister of Susan Palfini of Antioch, CA and Richard Schaub of Tennessee. Loving aunt of Katherine T. Palfini (mother of Rozalyn Wright), Joseph J. Palfini, Christina Helmick (née Schaub) (wife of Kevin and mother of Bella and Spencer), and Scott Schaub (husband of Emily and father of Arthur and Ethan). Kathleen is preceded in death by father Donald Schaub and mother Kathryn Schaub (née Moffit).
