

Leonard (Lennie) Charles Krapf passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the age of 94. Lennie was born on December 5, 1930, in Waukegan, IL to George and Victoria (Petruska) Krapf. He married Anna (Jean) Knapp on August 2,1952 and they enjoyed 68 wonderful years together.
Lennie graduated from Waukegan High School in 1948 where he participated in track. He faithfully served in the United States Army from 1954 – 1956. He worked at Outboard Marine Corporation for 47 years.
Lennie was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church. He taught some classes as a volunteer for Junior Achievement. Lennie served on the Board for Beach Park Sanitary District and served on the Lake County Community Developmental Board for 25 years. Additionally, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, lifetime member of the Zion Benton Loyal Order of Moose #667, member of the American Legion and VFW, Lake County Camera Club, as well as a stockholder of the Green Bay Packers and an avid White Sox fan. As a member of the Wanderers Roller Skating Club he met his loving wife, Anna (Jean). They loved country-western dancing and playing Pinnacle with friends. They loved vacationing at Table Rock Lake in Branson, MO, establishing beautiful memories with family and friends for over 50 years, especially water skiing. After retiring, he and his wife continued traveling making lifelong memories while seeing their family and friends.
Lennie is survived by his four daughters, Deborah Rodriguez, Diane (Dave) McCleary, Sharon (Don) Jenkins, and Sandra Krapf, grandchildren, Julia (Scott) Lucadello and George W. Rodriguez, great-grandchild, Levi, step-grandchildren Don (Michelle) Jenkins, Kristen (Miguel) Hernandez, Stephanie Butler, Greg (Megan) Jenkins, 11 step great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Victoria Krapf, wife Anna (Jean) Krapf, sister-in-law, Barb, and her husband, Eddie Miller, his brother and his wife, Richard and Dorothy Krapf, and brother, Ronald Krapf, son-in-laws, Mark Earley and George M. Rodriguez.
The family would like to give special thanks to his loyal caregivers, Gayle, Debby and Janice.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031. The Zion Benton Loyal Order of Moose #667 will be performing a defending circle at 6:00 pm. A funeral service will be officiated by Father Nicholas Cavaleri on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031. Military Funeral Honors will be conducted during the burial at Ascension Catholic Cemetery at 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, IL 60048. A luncheon will follow at the Zion Benton Moose Lodge #667 at 41517 N. Sheridan Road, Zion, IL 60099.
