An Air Force veteran, LeRoy carried his service into a career in aviation. He flew for many years and rose to the rank of captain, piloting aircraft including the DC 10 and the 747 until reaching the age requirement of the industry.
He is survived by his sons, Steve Bair and Kenneth (Lori) Bair; and by his grandchildren, Douglas (Tiffany) Bair, Jacquelyne (Zack) Kenney, Kevin Bair, and Tyler Bair. LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife Eva Moore Bair in 2021.
Beyond home and work, Leroy gave his time to the Northeast Illinois Council-Boy Scouts, offering support and involvement that reflected his belief in service and community. Burial private.
