Lola E. Houchin (nee Fisher), Age 88 of Waukegan, Illinois passed away May 28, 2012 at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan. She was born December 13, 1923 in Fairfield, Iowa to Ralph and Bertha Fisher. Lola married her husband George on January 29, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida. She worked 14 years for the News-Sun and St. Therese Hospital for 6 years. She is survived by her husband, George W. Houchin of 69 years; son, Alan (Cynthia) Houchin, and daughter, Linda (Les) Niemi; grandchildren, Scott (Colleen Stanis) Houchin, Matthew (April) Lasdasky, Jack (Kathy) Niemi, Les (Tara) Niemi, and April (Kevin) Mallek; and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Paul, Marvin, and Noal Fisher. Funeral service will be Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11am at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee. Visitation will be Thursday May 31 from 5-8pm. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
