

Born September 27, 1929, in North Chicago, Il. to Dorothy and John Drust. Lorraine attended Waukegan High School, graduating in 1947 and Lake Forest College. She started working in 1949 for the Waukegan School District, Waukegan High School and Lincoln Center and retired in 1984. Living next to the Great Lakes Naval Base with her cousin Phyllis, she met Paul DellaPosta who was in the Navy at the time. They were married in October of 1951.
Lorraine lived a full life, raising her children on Washington Park in Waukegan, Il. She was involved in the Legion of Mary, Post Office Aux, American Business Women’s Assoc., Bowling leagues, Bridge clubs, and Bible studies. She enjoyed going to Las Vegas a few times a year with her co-workers and friends. She also traveled with her good friends Marge and Dick Fries. We have to mention her favorite family restaurant, Ted’s Log Cabin, which held many special memories, from every holiday to weddings, baptisms, and funerals. Her sister in law, Susie and niece, Mary Ann ran the kitchen. "Best food in town".
She belonged to Mother of God church in Waukegan, where she was involved in many activities as well as working Bingo for many years. When she wasn’t working Bingo, she loved to play Bingo. When Mother of God closed down, she went to Our Lady of Humility Church and joined all the activities there, Bible study and of course, working and playing Bingo.
She is survived by her children, Don (Terry), and Diane Cepon and daughter in law Janice. Her grandchildren, Angie, Gerry Jr., Nicki D, Tara and Paul. As well as her Great Granddaughter, Ivy. Her cousins, Phyllis (Wm) Ivey, Sherry Dittmer, Barbara (Ron) Anderson, Penny and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Larry on May 8, 2015, her parents and her husband Paul, her aunts, Jenny, Irene, Evelyn and uncle Barney, and Paul’s brothers, Pepe, Tony, John, Louie, Gabe and sister, Sue Ringler.
