Luz Jarrett

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Dismas Catholic Church, 2600 Sunset Ave, Waukegan, IL. Interment private.

Born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois, Luz was a graduate of Waukegan High School. She went on to build a fulfilling career, retiring from the Selective Service System after 18 years of service.

Luz spent nearly 25 amazing years with her husband, Brian. They truly were best friends who loved and supported each other through everything. Luz’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a mother who adored her three children. She also loved spending time with her friends and extended family, creating memories filled with laughter and love.

As a lifelong animal lover, Luz had a special place in her heart for her dogs, Xander, Harley, Nala, and Rocco, who brought her constant companionship and happiness. Her kindness, warmth, and sense of humor made her a beloved presence in the lives of all who knew her.

Luz will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her generous spirit, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Wesley Jarrett; children Rebekkah Popovich, Adrian Diaz, and Emmett Jarrett; granddaughter Amelia Baiza; siblings Yolanda Bloom and Isaac Gonzalez; nieces and nephews Erik Juarez, Anel Flores, Alfonso Juarez, Zachery Gonzalez, Joshua Gonzalez, Ariana Flores, Derek Flores, Alexie Flores, Kaelyn Juarez, Steven Juarez, Luna Juarez, and Aelia Juarez.

Luz was preceded by her parents, Trinidad and Isidra Gonzalez.
