Maria V Sarantakis

Maria V Sarantakis, age 84, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2022. She was born on December 15, 1937 in Athens, Greece. She married Vasilios Sarantakis in Kalamata Greece and had two boys, Andy and John. She moved to the United States in 1971 and settled in Waukegan, IL. She worked at the Globe Department Store for over 20 years, Hero Group and Movado in Gurnee Mills. She was life-long member of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Libertyville.

She is survived by her two son; Andreas (Sandy) Sarantakis and John Sarantakis; granddaughter Marie Sarantakis and by many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Vasilios.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 10 AM to 11 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM with Father Tom Alatzakis officiating. Interment to follow at Northshore Garden of Memories.
