

Marian (nee Corrigan) Schlosser of Wadsworth passed away peacefully at age 95 on May 8, 2024, surrounded by her family while in the care of Integrated Palliative and Hospice of Libertyville. Marian married Gilbert Schlosser on July 1, 1950, and they lived a full life together for 73 years. He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2023. Marian is survived by her daughter-in-law Ann (Gary) Schlosser, her son Danny (Lynn) Schlosser, her daughter Jill (Gary) Hower, and son Jerry (Becky) Schlosser. She was the cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren who she devoted her life to loving.
Marian was one of the original Newport Township Volunteer Fire Department dispatchers, known as the “call girls”. She was also the Cub Scouts Den Mother for Wadsworth area boys for many years. She drove a school bus for Shea Transportation that served the Wadsworth School District and St. Patrick’s School. She enjoyed working on the Schlosser family farm planting flowers and vegetables. She and Gil spent endless hours making and painting wood crafts, and she loved to crochet, and knit.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Thomas Corrigan and Mary (nee Victor); her sons Gary and Lonnie Schlosser; her daughter-in-law Wendy Schlosser; her brothers James, Jerry, Robert, Howard (Pat), and Leonard (Gig) Corrigan.
A visitation will be held for Marian on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 North Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031. A private burial will follow.
