Michael Foster Smith

Beloved husband of Angela for 12 years. Step-father of Dale Ester, and Daniel Ester. Step-grandpa of Andrew Ester, Haley Braim, Nathan Ester, and Staley Ester. Step-great-grandpa of Andrew Ester Jr.. He is survived by his brother, Martin (Edie) Smith; his nieces, Kirsten (Charles) Hurley, Sammi Smith, and Elyse Smith; his uncle, Larry Smith; and many cousins. He will be missed by everyone that knew him – especially his beloved dogs Paco and Bella.

Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Geraldine Smith; his sister Laura (Terry) Brumback, his uncle, Richard (Joyce) Foster; and his great-uncle Edward (Ellen) Boobyer.

Michael was a fabulous drummer, and well known and established in the Lake County music scene. He played drums in the bands Glass Fog and Dark Horse (and many others). When he wasn’t drumming he enjoyed playing his acoustic guitar and singing.

Memorial Visitation will be held on September 10th, from 6-8 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee.
