

Milt Majercik, age 97, passed away at his home in Gurnee, Illinois on Monday, October 7, 2024. He was born on May 27, 1927 in Chicago, IL, where he grew up and attended Lane Tech High School. After helping win the high school state championship in baseball in 1945, he signed a contract to play minor league baseball for the Chicago Cubs. He retired from baseball at a young age due to injury but remained a devoted Cub fan.
After his playing days, Milt was a tile setter before becoming a highly successful sales rep selling commercial doors and windows. The family moved to Mundelein, IL where he was involved in coaching Little League baseball for several years. He remained active throughout his life including snow skiing, boating, volunteering at Condell Hospital and even exercising at Condell's Centre Club until his final days.
Milt was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Elizabeth (nee Adasek), former wife Dolores (nee Brantner), brother Jerry, son Donn (Lisa), and great-grandson Kaden. He is survived by his loving friend Mary Kay Farrell, sons Larry (Sue) and Scott (Jan), daughter Vicki (Doug) Westergaard, and many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Milt will be held from 1pm-3:30pm on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at Marsh Funeral Home, located at 305 N Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, IL 60031. Immediately following the visitation at 3:30pm, a Celebration of Life service will take place.
