Nicholas A. Pollotta

Nicholas A. Pollotta, Age 58, Waukegan, IL died April 12, 2013 at Vista East. Born August 26, 1954 in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. Nicholas was a member of Authors Guild and Romance Writers of America. He is the author of over 50 published novels and short stories. In addition to writing, Nick was a voracious reader and film buff. He attended science fiction conventions across the country, and was known for his comedic skits and dramatic readings. He mentored many new writers, helping several get their work published for the first time. Survived by his wife, Melissa (nee Hutchings) Pollotta; sister, Lucia (Michael) Read; niece, Dana Read; nephew, Peter Read; and three sons from previous marriages. Preceded in death by his parents. Nick will also be missed by a host of friends, especially the Paragoner gang. Services will take place at Marsh F.H. on Thursday, April 18, 12:30 pm. Interment private. Visitation Thursday, April 18 , 11:00 am - 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations to: American Cancer Society or a local literacy program of the donor's choice.
